8th Grade Mock Conclave and Our New Pope Francis I

Today our 8th grade class voted for a new pope. There were a lot of cardinal candidates. Some cardinal candidates were Cardinal Francis George, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Cardinal Sean O' Malley, and Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi. There were four voting times. A couple of times Cardinal Sean O' Malley won. A couple of other times Cardinal Francis George won the raffle. We never found a pope because you need 11(in our class-77 in real life) votes to confirm a pope. At the end of the day, we found out who actually became pope. He was Cardinal Bergoglio. He is from Argentina and changed his name to Pope Francis I. We watched him appear on the balcony with the entire Jr. High!
